Kotor
The Bay of Kotor extends 28 kilometres into the interior of Montenegro, making it one of the safest natural harbours in southern Europe. The coastline here is highly branched and surrounded by steep mountain and rocky slopes. This region is particularly charming and still an insider tip for holidaymakers. There is a lot of culture here, a lot of religion and places of election, charming and unspoilt countryside, a wonderful and clean sea, endless sandy beaches and a multitude of bathing possibilities. Reason enough for UNESCO to designate these special features. The Bay of Kotor is a World Heritage Site. History is written in capital letters here. The Bay of Kotor was a fortified town in the Middle Ages. Picturesque towns are typical for Montenegro and also in the Bay of Kotor. Our favourites: Perast, the monastery island Sveti Đorđe with the cemetery island Gospa od Skrpjela.
